How Verllora works

What it is, how a trade happens, and what the words mean.

Is it AI?

No. It's a rule-based trading bot plus a testing lab. Nothing in it learns, guesses or predicts. Every strategy is a fixed list of rules ("buy when RSI is below 10 and the price is above its 200 average…") that the computer follows exactly, every time. Even "Best settings" isn't AI: it simply tries every combination and keeps the best one, then checks it on months it never saw.

All money is pretend money ("paper trading"). It never connects to an exchange account or places real orders.

The path of one price update

  1. Prices come in. Crypto: live from Binance. US stocks: from CNBC's public charts. No accounts or keys.
  2. Prices become candles. A candle sums up a time slot (5 minutes, 1 hour, 1 day…): open, high, low, close and volume.
  3. Indicators are calculated from the candles: averages, RSI, MACD, Bollinger bands, ATR… (just math on past prices).
  4. Each strategy reads its rules when a candle closes: buy, short, close, or do nothing.
  5. The paper broker fills the order like a real exchange would: it charges the fee, adds slippage (a slightly worse price), sizes the trade by your risk %, and watches the stop loss / take profit inside every candle.
  6. Results are recorded: every trade, the account value over time, and the comparison with simply buying and holding.

A backtest runs exactly the same steps, but on past candles instead of live ones, so what you see in the lab is what the live bot would have done.

The parts

DashboardLive paper trading: the two main runs (all strategies on 5-minute candles) plus your own live setups.
Strategy builderInvent your own strategy with rules, then check it.
Backtest labReplay strategies on past prices with your choice of candle size, period, fees, risk, direction and pro features.
Best settingsSearches for the best combination that obeys your rules, and shows the minimum needed to profit.
Trade this liveOn any result: starts paper-trading exactly those settings on live prices.

Words you'll see

Long / short
Long = bet the price goes up. Short = bet it goes down.
Stop loss
The price where a losing trade is closed automatically.
R
What one trade risks: the distance from the entry to the stop. "+2R" = the trade earned twice what it risked.
Fee, maker / taker
What the exchange charges per trade. "Taker" = buy now at the market price (more expensive). "Maker" = wait at your own price (cheaper, may not fill).
Slippage
Getting a slightly worse price than the one you saw.
Worst drop (drawdown)
The biggest fall from a high point. Shows how painful the ride was.
Overfitting
Settings tuned so tightly to the past that they fail on new data. That's why "Best settings" tests the winner on unseen months.

Honest limits

  • A past result is not a promise. Markets change.
  • Short tests (days or a few weeks) are mostly luck. Judge over months and many trades.
  • Real trading adds things a simulator can't fully copy: outages, partial fills, sudden gaps, and your own emotions.
